Who is Dr. Mila Alvarado?
I am Mila, a human immersed in a constant quest for self-discovery. I am characterized by opposites, contrasts, passionate about jazz and reggaeton, but above all, my love for science is undeniable.
My dedication to Aesthetic Medicine is a vocation that has led me to leave Colombia, my home, to explore diverse perspectives and ways of understanding beauty. Throughout my travels, I have learned to enhance it in each person, instinctively analyzing features, proportions, and the temporal evolution of their faces.
My journey has brought me to Las Palmas, where I currently practice in my private office in Triana, Calle Torres 30 / General Bravo. Before establishing myself here, I contributed to one of the reference hospitals in Gran Canaria and collaborated with various clinics on the island.
My mission is to guide you toward natural and healthy aging, taking care of you from the inside out. I am passionate about discovering the wonders offered by medical science focused on beauty, or as I call it, "the medicine of happiness". Nothing fills me more than seeing the expression of my patients when they look in the mirror.

Collagen
Collagen, the predominant constituent in the human body, represents between 25% and 30% of the total protein in the organism, with 27 different types described and classified into various subgroups.
In the skin, collagen is mainly composed of type I (75-85%), type III (15%), and type V (2-4%), although types IV, VI, and VII are also present. Type I collagen, being the most abundant, provides the fundamental tensile strength to the skin, while in smaller proportions, type III collagen contributes to this property.
Due to its relevance in the aging process, there are currently various in-office treatments designed to stimulate its natural production.
How is this achieved? Through methods such as dermal fillers, lasers, plasma (PRP), radiofrequency with microneedles, among others. If you want to know which is the best treatment to stimulate yours, feel free to ask me.
Duck Mouth
You've probably noticed many people with lips affected by the so-called "duck lips," but why does this happen, and how can it be avoided?
Duck lips result from three main 'mistakes.'
• The first involves poor technique, where the "professional" injects the product superficially, focusing more on outlining. It is injected in the transition zone (when the skin color changes from flesh tone to red).
• The second reason is often an excess of product. In other words, there is too much filler material (usually hyaluronic acid) in the treated area. This causes excessive eversion (outward rotation) of the lip, creating this effect.
• Lastly, equally important is not respecting the proportions of the patient's anatomy, resulting in the upper lip being mounted over the lower lip.
• If you are considering lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid, it is crucial to understand that it is a medical-aesthetic procedure. Therefore, always consult a specialized professional who uses high-quality products and possesses a good aesthetic and ethical sense.
